Hello, I am Mehmet Emre Toktay. To briefly introduce myself; I am a progressive individual with an interest in customer experience, data, and statistics. I most recently completed my master's degree in business administration with a thesis at Istanbul Arel University. I have already started looking for a PhD. If you are serious about the business life, I can take you here. In my professional life, I had the opportunity to work in various fields ranging from tourism to business intelligence expertise. When I realized that tourism working conditions were not suitable for me, I preferred to focus on statistics and data which are my fields of interest. Initially, I was accepted to the Istanbul University Statistics Non-Thesis Master's program through an interview. After completing my master's courses here, I froze my registration and transferred to Istanbul Arel University for an MBA with a thesis (I wanted to do a master's in statistics with a thesis, but unfortunately, this was not possible due to the education conditions in Turkey and my undergraduate degree being in tourism). I completed the MBA process with a thesis on Lean Six Sigma, a topic mainly researched by industrial engineers and statisticians. I believe that blending academic studies with work life experience and focusing on areas that can make a difference with the realities of business life is essential. Therefore, in my study, I aimed to see the applicability of customer experience together with Lean Six Sigma methodology. I believe that it will bring me unique success and satisfaction in my career/academic life. Initially, while finding the common point regarding customer experience & process improvement, I now aim to add data science to this duo. My studies and research on this intersection point continue. As a child of a teacher mother and a progressive individual, my enthusiasm for learning never diminished. I am currently in job search that will help my interdisciplinary journey that I am trying to build in my career. My last three jobs are as follows: Turkey Support Unit Coordinator for DataDuck, Customer Experience Leader for Lenovo, Business Intelligence Expert for Google as an outsourced position. Now, I primarily want to work in a position related to Data Science or at least covering 2-3 areas where I want to improve myself. I believe one of the critical points to be a successful data scientist is to have a deep understanding of the data and sector you are dealing with. Therefore, I think it would be good for me if the data science jobs I am looking for are related to SaaS, BPO, Customer Experience, Support Unit, and Blockchain.
